The Rogue River in Shady Cove
Shady Cove sits on both sides of the Rogue River. Wikipedia says tourism replaced timber as the main economic driver in town, with rafting and year-round fishing among the draws. The city's website has a Wild and Scenic Rogue River Recreation page. This page links to official sources and does not list outfitters or guides.
Fishing
Fishing rules differ by river section, species and season, and they change. Use the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for current regulations, zone information and closures before you go. Fish counts and harvest statistics are also on the ODFW site.
Public land and river management
Downstream of Grants Pass, the Rogue is a National Wild and Scenic River managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The BLM's page describes the designation, boat ramps and permit rules for that stretch. Shady Cove is on the upper river, so check the agency that manages the section you plan to float or fish.
